Fort Bend County Judge KP George to Announce Awarding of Regional Mitigation Funds from the Texas General Land Office
(FORT BEND, TX) — Fort Bend County Judge KP George will hold a press conference to announce the awarding of Regional Mitigation Funds from the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The press conference will take place on Tuesday, August 6, at 10:00 a.m., at the Fort Bend County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, located at 307 Fort St., Richmond, TX 77469.
Fort Bend County has been determined eligible by the GLO for Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funding. This funding will be allocated to several critical infrastructure projects designed to enhance flood resilience and improve community safety. The projects include:
- Levee Improvement District #10 Erosion Repair
- Mustang Bayou Detention Basin
- Steep Bank Creek Erosion Repair
These projects are part of Fort Bend County's ongoing commitment to safeguarding the community against natural disasters and improving disaster preparedness and recovery efforts.
