Inspection Requests
Starting August 1, 2024 all inspection requests will be made by emailing your request to: FMOINSPECTIONS@FORTBENDCOUNTYTX.GOVThe email above is to be used for scheduling inspections only. If you have a general question, please contact 281-238-1500.
Please include the following in your email:
- Name of Project
- Address of Project
- Contact name and number of project
- Type of inspection requested
Plans Submittal Update
Beginning August 1, 2023, all plan submittals are required to be one (1) digital copy on a USB device. The USB device shall be formatted to be compatible with Bluebeam.
The plans shall be one continuous file and not individual files per sheet.
We have adopted new codes
As of October 1, 2023, unincorporated Fort Bend County will utilize the 2021 International Fire Code and Fort Bend County local amendments to the [PDF].
Ways to Submit Plans
January 1, 2021
- MAIL: If plans are submitted by mail, one digital copy on USB, permit request and payment.
- IN PERSON: Plans can be submitted in person at our main office
Our clerks will then receive and process your plans submittal and/or fee payment. You will then receive an e-mail with a receipt of your submission.
- If you have questions regarding a construction project, please contact Battalion Chief Christopher Richter at (281)238-1500 or by email at christopher.richter2@fortbendcountytx.gov.
- Construction meetings are conducted on Thursday from 9am-2pm. Contact the office to schedule a meeting.
