to Host Ribbon Cutting for
South Post Oak Sportsplex: Baseball Field Expansion
Houston, Texas

Houston, Texas – Fort Bend County Commissioner Grady Prestage and Fort Bend County Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the baseball fields at South Post Oak Sportsplex. They are located at 5675 Hobby Road Houston, Texas 77053. The revamped baseball complex will be open to the community and surrounding leagues and organizations to enjoy.

Everyone is invited to attend the grand re-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony which will be held, Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m-12 noon. The new baseball fields, designed by IDG Architects and constructed by Crain Group, LLC, is made possible by the Fort Bend County 2020 Parks Bond Referendum. The South Post Oak Sportsplex - Baseball Fields is a significant addition to the surrounding communities as it increases access and active participation in the sports of baseball and softball.  The South Post Oak Sportsplex is a recreational athletic space for the community to use and enjoy, connect with neighbors and friends, but most of all it will serve as a major training ground for youth sports.  Fort Bend County is excited to partner with the community to build future champions, Olympians, and professional athletes. Join us as we gather with friends and family in a fun environment, all in the spirit of the game of baseball.

The South Post Oak Sportsplex Baseball Fields feature a variety of amenities designed for community enjoyment including:

  • Three baseball regulation size lighted artificial turf fields
  • One softball regulation size lighted artificial turf field
  • Two air-conditioned press boxes
  • State-of-the-art (6) bay batting cage building
  • Two spacious air-conditioned team meeting rooms
  • Concessions Building with full commercial stainless-steel kitchen
  • Pathway lighting upgrades throughout the complex
  • Picnic tables and bleachers
  • Parking lot expansion and upgrades
  • Beautiful landscaping 
  • Fields are designed for play for ages 5 - 18 

Fort Bend County Precinct 2 Commissioner Grady Prestage and the Fort Bend County Parks and Recreation Department invite everyone in the community to join us in celebrating on Saturday, July 6th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will include remarks from local leaders and officials, a special guest appearance from the Houston Astros, Sugar Land Space Cowboys, and complimentary refreshments in the park. This event will be a perfect complement to the holiday weekend, celebrating further developments within Fort Bend County.
