County Offices Closed Tuesday, January 21st, 2025: Fort Bend County Offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Fort Bend County Courts will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Deputies in the Civil Division serve a wide variety of court documents issued by Justice, County, District Courts, as well as courts from out of state. These documents include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Writs of Sequestration
- Eviction Suits
- Writs of Possession
- Citations
- Show Cause
- Civil Subpoenas
- Criminal Subpoenas
- Criminal Summons
- Retraining Orders
- Protective Orders
- Writs of Garnishment (seizing of money or financial instruments)
In addition to serving these different processes, deputies also perform duties as the Justice Court bailiff. They are required to keep the peace and maintain a presence at every session of court.
Deputies in the Civil Division serve more than 9,000 court documents each year.
