The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is part of a Regional Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team, known as Fort Bend Regional Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT). The team is comprised of an East and West Division. The East Division includes Police Departments from Missouri City, Stafford and Sugarland. The West Division includes the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and the Rosenberg Police Department.

SWAT’s mission is to work as a coordinated team to resolve critical incidents and support any local law enforcement agency within Fort Bend County with a tactical response. A critical incident includes the following: apprehension, warrant service, dignitary protection, hostage situations, sniper situation, barricaded subject situation, and general special operations.
All team members perform SWAT duties and train monthly in addition to their everyday job responsibilities. The SWAT Team falls under the Patrol Division, commanded by Major James Burger and Captain Michael Fisher. Lieutenant David Bentley leads the SWAT Team with the assistance of Sergeant Jacob Robbins and Sergeant Jeremy Goodrich.
