The Reserve Division, led by Captain Roy Ferguson alongside Lieutenant Rebecca Lane, operates under the supervision of Assistant Chief Deputy Norman Wong.

Established on September 18, 1967, the Reserve Division is a distinguished, all-volunteer organization with a rich legacy of service. Its dedicated members come from diverse civilian and military backgrounds, including professions such as insurance, law, federal employment, retail, firefighting, and many others.

The division plays a crucial role in supplementing and supporting various units across the Sheriff’s Office, including Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Community Services, Firearms, Courts, and Detention. Additionally, Reserve Deputies take on numerous self-managed assignments and initiatives, delivering invaluable services that save Fort Bend County taxpayers thousands of dollars annually.

Every Reserve Deputy within the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office must hold certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), ensuring they are Texas peace officers with the same arrest authority as full-time deputies. Furthermore, Reserve Deputies meet the same rigorous hiring, background, medical, and psychological standards required of full-time personnel.
