Michael A. Baranowski is the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Asset Management Coordinator, responsible for the monitoring the vehicle fleet size, age, mileage, and installed equipment. He is also responsible for the cataloging, tracking and accounting for over 3,500 items utilized by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff’s Office fleet consists of approximately 400 vehicles and is comprised of various manufacturers and types of vehicle; from SUVs and cars to ATVs and helicopters. In a rapidly growing county, the Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an effective working relationship with all county offices.
The Asset Management Coordinator works very closely with the Fort Bend County Auditor’s Office, Purchasing Office and Sheriff’s Office Administration to ensure compliance in accountability for all purchased assets and assists with routine audits as required by the Fort Bend County Auditor’s Office. Michael is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory database including the transfers of assets among various Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office divisions while ensuring the proper documentation, disposal, and destruction of county assets deemed no longer fit for service.
