UPCOMING UPDATE TO REGULATIONS FOR FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT

Fort Bend County is updating its Regulations for Floodplain Management, which will be renamed to Flood Damage Prevention Regulations (FDPR). The objective of the FDPR is to establish certain criteria and standards so that land development is undertaken in ways that reduce exposure to flooding. The FDPR is also required for the County's participation in the National Flood Insurance Program in order to make flood insurance available to the residents and business owners of Fort Bend County. A draft copy of the FDPR is available for download using the link below. Fort Bend County welcomes any questions, concerns or input from the general public, which can be emailed to floodplain@fbctx.gov. A public hearing will be held on October 8, 2024 at the Fort Bend County Commissioner's Court.
