Notice is given that the Commissioners Court of Fort Bend County, Texas, will conduct a hearing on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Commissioners Courtroom, 401 Jackson St., 2nd Floor, Richmond, Texas 77469 on the proposed Fort Bend County Game Room Regulations [PDF].
The Regulations conform with Chapter 234 of the Texas Local Government Code, as amended by SB 1210, 84th Legislature, Regular Session, which states that the Commissioners Court of a county with a population of 550,000 or more and is adjacent to a county that has a population of four million or more; by order may regulate the operation of Game Rooms to promote the public health, safety, and welfare, according to Section 231.133 of the Texas Local Government Code.

All publicly accessible documents will be viewable by all audiences without need of login or registration with the Clerk. County Courts at Law
The Fort Bend County Clerk serves as Clerk of the Court for all County Courts at Law. Fort Bend County has six (6) County Courts at Law and two (2) Associate County Courts at Law.
CIVIL COURT — Civil cases usually deal with disputes between parties in which the amount in controversy is up to $250,000. These courts also hear appeals from Justice of the Peace courts. The County Clerk's responsibilities include receiving e-filings for civil cases, eminent domain cases, preparing notices and citations, and maintaining records associated with cases filed before these courts.
JUVENILE — This court hears issues associated with juvenile offenders who are 10 years of age or older and younger than 17 years of age. The County Clerk receives filings, maintains, and records associated cases filed before this court. All Juvenile files per Texas Family Code 58.007 are open for inspection ONLY by:
- Juvenile Court Judge,
- Juvenile Probation Officers,
- Professional Consultants/Staff of the court,
- Juvenile Justice Agency,
- Attorney for the Party,
- Agency providing supervision, or
- With leave of the Juvenile Court for others who have a legitimate interest.

MISDEMEANOR COURT — These courts hear Class A and B misdemeanor offenses such as DWIs, thefts, and assaults. The County Clerk's Office accepts filings, records information from these courts, and provides administrative support through the issuance of warrants, summons, subpoenas, and commitments. Felony information is located in the District Clerk's Office.
PROBATE — This court hears issues associated with the estates of deceased persons, guardianships for minors and incapacitated persons, and mental health commitments. The County Clerk issues citations, letters of guardianship, letters testamentary, notices, and other documents as required by law.
Attorney Fee/Expense Claim : Effective February 1, 2020
As of February 1, 2020, the County Court at Law Judges approved the use of a new Attorney Fee/Expense Claim Form for submission of court-ordered attorney fees and expenses for misdemeanor cases in the County Courts. This submission process will be accomplished by submitting the pdf-fillable form through eFile Texas. Pursuant to the Supreme Court Order - Misc. Docket No. 15-9205 [PDF], an order adopting statewide rules governing electronic filing in criminal cases has been adopted by the Fort Bend County Court at Law Courts, effective January 26, 2017.

**CRIMINAL RESET PROCEDURE**
FOR COUNTY COURT AT LAW NO. 1 ONLY
A blank reset form for criminal cases may be downloaded from the Court’s website under the Documents and Forms tab. The reset must be dated and signed by both the Attorney and Defendant (or with permission of the Defendant) and e-filed (with electronic notice to the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office) no later than 5:00 p.m. the day of the hearing/docket, but no earlier than seven (7) days prior to docket call. Failure to submit a reset timely may subject the Defendant to a bond forfeiture or a failure to appear. Regina Green, the Court Coordinator will have fourteen (14) days from the docket date to return a fully executed reset to all parties by email. The electronic reset ensures compliance with all Texas Supreme Court Emergency Orders and reduces the number of people within the courthouse. Criminal resets will NOT be accepted in the courtroom. The Court requires all business be conducted remotely, if possible. If you are unable to conduct business remotely, please contact the Court Coordinator for accommodations.
Please refrain from sending multiple emails to the Court Coordinator. Resets will be processed on a first come first serves basis, and a signed copy will be emailed to you for your records.
