Office Hours & Staffing
The county historical commission is an all-volunteer group committed to preserving and promoting our county's history. All commissioners serve on a part time bais: there is no full time staff.
The commission office is open to the public while commissioners are present. A small anteroom, containing brochures, fliers, maps, and other information, is always open. The main office is closed to the public unless a commissioner is present. Commissioners often work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, but this schedule is informal. Commissioners occasionally work in the office on other weekdays during business hours.
If you want to visit office, please confirm that the office will be open by calling 832-471-2525, or emailing HistoricalCommission@fortbendcountytx.gov. Please make arrangements as far in advance as possible.
The commission office is located on the 5th floor of the Travis Building (Suite 533) at 301 Jackson St. in Richmond, next to the courthouse.
