  • Business Check (accepted in Courts and Official Public Records only for plat recording)
  • Money Order
  • Credit Card (Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover). Processed via Certified Payments. Please note, Certified Payments charges a convenience fee of $2.00 minimum when using a credit and debit card.

 

CHECK REQUIREMENTS

Allowable checks (see above), business checks and money orders:

  • should be made payable to Fort Bend County Clerk
  • must be drawn on a bank located in the United States
  • must be made payable in United States currency

Fort Bend County Clerk Fee Schedules

Filing fees are discounted or waived for Active Military and Veterans with valid Veteran ID for the following services:

  • Military Discharge / DD-214 Papers
  • Assumed Name Application
  • Withdrawal of Assumed Name
  • Seventy-two hour waiver when applying for a marriage license

The following service fees are waived if being deployed to hostile fire zone: (1) certified copy of birth certificate; (2) issuance of a marriage license; (3) certified copy of marriage license; (4) fees for transferring title to real or personal property (Government Code 437.217).
