Judge Dean Hrbacek, a third-generation Texan, moved to Fort Bend County in 1987, where he raised a family and established his law practice. He has been married to his wife, Jenny, for 42 years, and together they have three grown children. Both are active members of The Freedom Center Church in Missouri City.

Elected as Judge of County Court at Law No. 6 in 2022, He manages a diverse docket that affects the lives of Fort Bend County residents. His responsibilities include overseeing cases in probate and guardianship, juvenile matters, civil litigation, condemnation, misdemeanors, and civil mental health commitments. He also administers Fort Bend County’s DWI Court, a program aimed at reducing recidivism among impaired drivers.

He serves on several county boards, including the Fort Bend County Council of Judges, the Fort Bend County Juvenile Board, and the Fort Bend County Bail Bond Board.

Judge Hrbacek earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center and practiced law in Fort Bend County for over thirty five years. He is board certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and his practice areas included Civil Law, Probate Law, Guardianship Law, Tax Law, Real Estate, and Employment Law. Judge Hrbacek is a member of both the State Bar of Texas and the Fort Bend County Bar Association. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

His community service is extensive, including roles as Mayor of Sugar Land, a Sugar Land City Council member, and a director on both the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority and the Fort Bend Grand Parkway Toll Road Authority. He has also served as a director on the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, the Houston Galveston Area Council, and currently serves as a director on Impact a Hero, a non-profit that supports veterans. Additionally, he has been Legal Counsel for both the Fort Bend County Republican Party and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and has been a coach at First Colony Little League.

Judge Hrbacek played a crucial role in the development of Sugar Land Town Square and in establishing the University of Houston Sugar Land campus. He has been recognized with the Paul Harris Fellow Award for his contributions to the Rotary International Foundation. Outside of his professional and community endeavors, he is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and enjoys hunting, fishing, and traveling.
